Universal Fibers®, Inc., DuPont Industrial Biosciences partnership receives positive marketplace response with Rise®™ featuring DuPont™ Sorona®

BRISTOL, Va. – (June 09, 2014) – Universal Fibers, Inc., today announced positive global marketplace response to its partnership with DuPont™ Industrial Biosciences (DuPont™) to produce and market carpet fiber using DuPont™™ Sorona® renewably sourced polymer.

"We’ve enjoyed a very positive response globally, most notably at this year’s Domotex trade show and also at China Floor," said Bill Goodman, vice president of sales and marketing. "Customer response has been particularly strong in Europe and China where we are receiving interest in all three markets segments– commercial, transportation and residential. In North America and Australia, we will produce Rise for the commercial and transportation segments and we look forward to further interest both domestically and around the world."

Universal Fibers® is an exhibitor this week at NeoCon in Chicago, North America’s largest commercial interiors trade show.

Under the license agreement between DuPont™ and Universal Fibers, DuPont™™ is providing its Sorona® polymer to Universal Fibers for its use in producing Rise™ carpet fiber to be marketed and sold as Rise™ featuring DuPont™ Sorona® under the Universal Fibers® brand.
