Universal Fibers® Runs in Support ALS Research and No Child Left Unfed

From our home in Bristol, Virginia US, Universal Fibers® joined forces with other area businesses for the 10th annual 5K run benefiting ALS research and No Child Left Unfed. As defined by EnLIST, our for point commitment to environmental stewardship, our community outreach support was on full display. Representing the largest group of contestants, more than 46 Associates from Universal Fibers proudly prevailed in cool rainy conditions and were honored to participate in this very worthy effort.

Teeing It Up for Backpacks Unite

Universal Fibers® was proud to host its annual golf outing benefiting Backpacks Unite, a collaborative effort between United Way of Southwest Virginia, community organizations and area businesses. The event was attended by more than 76 participants consisting of company Associates, family, friends and industry partners. Proceeds from the event helped provide nutritious meals to more than 114 area students and we were honored to provide support.

Universal Fibers® Welcomes Global Carpet Industry to NeoCon, 2018

Universal Fibers® was honored to host its global customers and industry partners to our 6th Annual Celebration of NeoCon. The gala took place in the historic Michigan Room of the iconic University Club of Chicago and was attended by industry leaders across the globe representing flooring producers from North America, Europe and Asia.

In support of Universal Fibers' earned reputation for establishing partner relationships, the theme of the event was Better Together. "Since 1969, our greatest advances in innovation have come as a result of partnership and collaboration. We innovate together, we win together and tonight we celebrate together," said Phil Harmon, President of Universal Fibers. "At Universal Fibers, we truly believe we are Better Together and thank you for joining us on this very special evening at NeoCon."

Water Initiative Delivers Annual Savings of 22%

In support of EnLIST, a four point commitment to environmental stewardship, Universal Fibers® established an initiative to reduce water use in the production of its sustainable fiber products. New processes were implemented in 2016 which resulted in an annual water savings of approximately 22%. As an added positive, water returns were reduced by 17% and energy was reduced for water treatment.
